I’m Cycling for Diabetes

When you have success, you should always pay it forward. My friend Zack emailed me to join the team he created for our company for the American Diabetes Association Tour De Cure . I take spin class two to three times a week, but I haven’t really ridden a bike out in the open in years. However, I decided to do it because this is a cause that is very close to my heart. One of my favorite aunts passed away due to complications dealing with diabetes. My aunt was a strong, independent, but loyal to her family but was not understood by them. Her death hit everyone in the family hard because it was the first real tragedy we’d ever had. This will be a way to honor her death while trying to raise money to help others who are living with diabetes.

I need to buy a bike and also raise $175. I’ve never done a marathon, so I am kind of nervous that I won’t be able to raise this money. I have til June, but I don’t even know how to go about it. Also, I can’t afford to buy a super expensive bike, so I don’t want to get a horrible bike that won’t even make it to the end of the race. If anyone can give me suggestions and tips, I would greatly appreciate it.

Oh, and if you can donate even a $1, then that will be great as well!
