Why Are Some Old Women So Bitter and Catty Towards Younger Ones?

There is nothing else on TV, so I am here watching “The Real Housewives of Orange County.”  All I can say is that these women are some catty bitches.  The one I can’t stand the most is Tamara. She labeled herself “the hottest housewife in the OC.”  Who lied to this woman?  She thinks cause she has fake boobs and a horrible blonde dye job she is hot?

Now she is upset because Gretchen arrives, and she is younger, hotter, real chest, and natural blonde.  What is wrong with this lady?  You would think that her being old enough to be Gretchen’s mother, she would be a little bit more mature.  NOT!  Now she does the most immature thing of trying to get the girl drunk because Gretchen is getting more attention to her at her upscale party.  There is nothing upscale about this woman.  She thinks that money makes her classy and sophisticated, but someone needs to slap her upside the head and tell her, “No baby, it doesn’t.”

It goes with my last post about why old people do this and that.  One question they forgot is why do old women have to be so freaking bitter and catty?

Not everyone is like that. I'm old (37) and not bitter. :)

I think it depends on whether you're happy or not.

BTW, while older men may not be “catty” towards younger men, I think there's definitely jealousy and a fear of being pushed aside and replaced. So it's not just women.

That is why I said some because I don't think all women do this.

Maybe with older men it comes in the form of a mid-life crisis?

I just quit a craft class with a bunch of old, fat, catty bats from the depression era. They practiced a double standard, giving cards, etc., to each other but not to me because I “didn't deserve it”. The syrupy, sweet verbal jabs and sidewise glances at each other got old. Going to find someplace else – hopefully with women more my age.

It's crazy how a woman can be another woman's worst enemy. I am a young
mother, and you should see how some of the older mothers exclude me from
things because of my age. Good luck finding another craft class.
