I look at the neighborhoods surrounding me and are sad that no one seems to be in the holiday spirit. Maybe there are no Christmas lights because everyone is strapped for cash, but it’s still a sad sight to see. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays of the year, and so I have the Christmas tree, Poinsetta (far away from the cat), Gingerbread candle, and Christmas houses. In the car, the kids and I are belting out Christmas songs. It seems that the kids and I are the only ones who are excited this holiday season.
Life might seem like it sucks, but you should be thankful that you have your health, life, and family. I am glad that my children are with me, my family loves me, and I have wonderful friends. I am definitely in the spirit!
Well, I hope that even though there are not lights out there that people are still in the spirit, even if somewhat.

HOHOHO!!! I'm psyched for Christmas, and have decided to begin my festivities this weekend. Time to start making candies, put up the tree, and I might even string some popcorn and cranberries to put on the camellia outside (it's festive and feeds the birds).
Yeay! I am excited. I love, LOVE Christmas. i wish people would realize that you don't have to spend tons of money to show your loved ones that you cherish them.
Where did you read that about Poinsettas? Everyone is telling me they are poisonous and he will die.
I have always been sad about that as well back when i was young. But Christmas is so much more than the objects that represent it. This Christmas my grandmother almost died. Now I don't care about the gifts, food or decorations. I'm just glad we are all together.
I wish my family understood that. They always look at me weird when I say that it's ok if I don't get anything. They were appalled when I suggested a Secret Santa for the adults. They went along with it….FINALLY.
Children are children and they would be bummed if they didn't have anything under the tree.
